The Bride Price completed it's year-long festival run; being named Best Documentary at film festivals in New York, Indianapolis, Paris and La Jolla, a dozen Official Selection designations, specific awards such as Liberation/Social Justice/Protest and Best Use of Film for Social Change, was a Semi-Finalist in Berlin and earned Finalist awards in both London and Dubai. Jen was named the Female Filmmaker of the Year at Austin Revolution Film Festival, was a runner up for Best Documentary Director in London and a Finalist in the Accolade Global Film Competition's Humanitarian Award.
In March, 2024, we entered into a contract with NETA for distribution to PBS stations nationwide. In our first month of distribution, we aired in New York, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, California, Chicago, Illinois, Salt Lake City, Utah, Baltimore and Salibury, Maryland, Roanoke-Lynchburg, Virginia, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Columbia, Missouri. Some years ago, Alinafe's story inspired the making of The Bride Price and that inspiration continues with the rescue center now being built in her name. Donations will go to the construction of the complex for girls who have escaped their forced marriages; providing education completion and child care in a safe environment.
Unchained At Last is a survivor-led non-profit organization dedicated to ending forced and child marriages in the United States through direct services and systems change, leading a growing movement to eliminate child marriage in every U.S. state and at the federal level.

Girls Not Brides is a global partnership working collectively to ending child marriage so that girls can fulfil their potential. A diverse network of civil society organizations around the work, their experience, unique understanding and longstanding connectiosn with girls are the driving force of our movement.
